Ektazja przewodów piersiowych
Rokowania, prognozy i postęp choroby
Prognoza w ektazji przewodów piersiowych (Mammary duct ectasia)
W wielu przypadkach choroba ustępuje samoistnie bez konieczności stosowania specyficznego leczenia.56 Większość pacjentów z MDE wraca do zdrowia bez potrzeby interwencji medycznej, a jeśli leczenie jest wymagane, proces rekonwalescencji zwykle przebiega bez komplikacji.7
Metody leczenia a prognoza
- Rzadko wymaga interwencji chirurgicznej
- Nie wpływa na długość życia pacjentów
Nawet w przypadkach wymagających leczenia medycznego, rekonwalescencja przebiega zwykle bez komplikacji, a pacjenci powracają do normalnego funkcjonowania.28

The prognosis is generally good since it is a benign disease that does not pose any increased risk of malignancy. Although the severity of the disease is variable, the cure can occur spontaneously with no specific treatment; at the other extreme, patients with a severe course of the disease may require medical or surgical therapies. Survival is not affected and remains similar to a healthy same-age population. […] The treatment outcome is mainly related to the chronicity and severity of the disease. Generally, the prognosis remains good by the fact that MDE is a benign disease with no increased risk of malignancy.

The prognosis for Mammary Duct Ectasia is generally positive. It is a non-cancerous condition and does not increase the risk of developing cancer. The severity of the condition can vary, with some people getting better on their own without treatment, while others may require medication or surgery. Life expectancy is not impacted and typically matches that of a similarly aged healthy individual. […] The main problems that may occur after the procedure include repeated bouts of inflammation, infections, and abnormal connections between body parts known as fistulas. These complications often necessitate additional procedures and the removal of more duct tissue, leading to scarring around the dark area surrounding the nipple.
