Entropion
Zapobieganie i profilaktyka

Profilaktyka i zapobieganie entropionowi

Zapobieganie przypadkom entropionu infekcyjnego

Ochrona oczu przed urazami

Aby zmniejszyć ryzyko rozwoju entropionu spowodowanego urazem, zaleca się noszenie ochronnych okularów podczas aktywności, które mogłyby uszkodzić oko.123 Urazy mogą prowadzić do bliznowacenia powiek, co jest czynnikiem ryzyka entropionu.

Właściciele zwierząt domowych również mogą pomóc zmniejszyć ryzyko entropionu związanego z urazem, zapewniając swoim pupilom ochronę oczu podczas aktywności, które mogłyby spowodować uraz.1

Wczesne wykrywanie i interwencja

Tymczasowe metody leczenia

Przed zabiegiem chirurgicznym można zastosować kilka metod tymczasowej ulgi:

Sztuczne łzy i lubrykanty

Jeden koniec taśmy należy umieścić w pobliżu dolnych rzęs, następnie delikatnie pociągnąć w dół i przymocować drugi koniec taśmy do górnej części policzka. Lekarz może zademonstrować właściwą technikę i umiejscowienie taśmy.1234

Iniekcje toksyny botulinowej

Środki nawilżające do oczu i ścisłe monitorowanie stanu oczu mogą pomóc zapobiec powikłaniom.1

Podsumowanie metod zapobiegania entropionowi

If the animal has corneal ulcers, those will need to be treated too. Untreated corneal ulcers may scar excessively, impairing vision. Treatment will reduce the incidence of scarring. Treatment usually involves the use of antibiotic ophthalmic ointment. (To administer ophthalmic ointment, place your thumb directly below the eyelid and very gently push, which will cause the lower eyelid to pull away from the eye. Put the ointment in the opened lower lid.) […] Young puppies generally have only a minor procedure called lid tacking rather than the full blepharoplasty. Permanent surgery like the blepharoplasty isnt typically done in puppies that are less than 6 months old because it’s not possible to predict what the animal’s adult head conformation will be, and the full surgery may not be needed. In lid tacking, temporary sutures are used to roll out the eyelids and keep the puppies’ eyes healthy until they mature and grow into their adult facial features. Entropion can be seen in Chinese Shar Peis as young as two or three weeks old, and these puppies do quite well with the temporary eyelid tacking.

Most entropion cases are managed surgically for a permanent repair of the eyelid margin. Nonsurgical medical treatments are an option either while the patient awaits surgical repair or for patients who are poor candidates for surgery. […] To avoid symptoms of irritation, immediate relief can be achieved with the use of topical lubricating ointments and bandage contact lenses to help create a barrier between the ocular surface and the entropic eyelid margin rubbing against the eye. Entropion can be managed temporarily by taping the eyelid margin so that the eyelashes no longer contact the globe or by epilating the inturned eyelashes with forceps.
